Description

Allcon Contracting constructed a highly specialized copper roofing system at Lupton Hall on the SUNY Farmingdale campus, one of the largest and most complex copper roof installations in New York State at the time. The project encompassed over 81,000 square feet of copper roofing in both batten and flat seam configurations, including custom dormers, integrated gutter systems, and architectural detailing designed to withstand extreme wind conditions. During early abatement and removal phases, Allcon proposed and helped develop a unique structural solution utilizing high-gauge metal framing secured to the existing structure, allowing for precise installation and long-term performance. The work required extensive engineering, detailed shop drawings, and close coordination with the university, design team, fabricators, and installers over a multi-year duration. This signature project was recognized with a NACIA Award from the Copper Development Association, underscoring All-Con’s craftsmanship, technical capability, and commitment to excellence in complex institutional construction.
