This project involved the ground-up construction of a 19,000 sq. ft. gymnasium and school facility for St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Merrick. The scope of work included demolition of existing structures, full site preparation, installation of a reinforced foundation system, and construction of a structural steel framed building with masonry exterior walls and new roofing systems. The interior scope consisted of a complete build-out, including a full-size gymnasium with basketball and volleyball courts, classrooms, offices, a conference room, cafe, kitchen, corridors, storage rooms, and dedicated mechanical and electrical rooms. Exterior work included installation of new site utilities, drainage systems, a new 15,000 sq. ft. parking lot, landscaping and hardscape improvements, and circulation areas to support safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and vehicles. The facility is fully ADA-accessible, connecting directly to the existing church facilities. All work was executed to meet performance, structural, safety, and programmatic objectives, with ongoing coordination to maintain design intent, quality standards, and project scheduling requirements. The project was successfully completed in 14 months through the coordinated efforts of the All-Con Contracting team and our subcontractor partners, whose expertise and commitment to craftsmanship supported every phase of construction.
